Hiking the Celery Fields

 

The American Hiking Society celebrates trails in June. Take part by hiking, cycling, paddling, horse-riding or walking.

Sea Turtle Nesting Season is here, and runs through Oct. 31. (Keep the lights down). Speaking of which, World Oceans Day is coming up:

Saturday, June 8 – World Oceans Day Family Festival will feature games and crafts focused on “green” sustainable practices, marine science and conservation by Mote and other local organizations.

* When: 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Saturday, June 8
* Where: Mote Aquarium, 1600 Ken Thompson Parkway, Sarasota
* Cost: Free with admission to Mote Aquarium. Admission is $19 for adults; $18 for seniors over 65; $14 for children ages 4-12; and free for kids age 3 and younger. Mote members always get in free.
