Produce ready for Harvest at Phillippi Farmhouse Market: Oct. 30th will be Howl-O-Ween

[clearboth]Last Wednesday, the Phillippi Farmhouse Market opened for its 5th season, and there was lots of excitement and many new vendors. This coming Wednesday the market hopes another of its produce vendors will have enough fruits and vegetables to enter the market. The weather has been really hard on local farmers with too much rain which drown many seedlings, but all the market’s produce vendors have re-planted and are almost ready for harvest.

October brings cooler days and everyone is looking forward to a change in weather and in anticipation of the market’s favorite doggie event – HOWL-O-WEEN.  On Wed October 30, the market will sponsor a doggie Halloween costume contest.  There are flyers with all the particulars at the Welcome Tent.  The Phillippi Farmhouse Market is partnering with the Humane Society of Sarasota County to put on this canine extravaganza, which will be fun for all.  Woof n Purr, a regular vendor at the market, will be offering  free doggie treats to all their four-footed friends, and the doggie costume parade will take place at noon in the center of the market with dogs “strutting their stuff”.  The Humane Society will also have a Howl-minster (take-off on Westminster) Dog Show which should be great fun.[clearboth]

[clearboth]As always, there is ample free parking and handicap accessibility at the market. Plan to make a visit to the Phillippi Farmhouse Market and enjoy the local produce – never fresher – as well as delicious prepared foods and bakery goodies, guaranteed to satisfy.
