Phillippi Farmhouse Market Concludes 4th Season, Reopens Oct. 2 with Special Events

[clearboth]The Phillippi Farmhouse Market concluded its 4th season the end of May.  The steering committee is already planning special events for the up-coming  5th season.  The market will reopen on Wednesday October 2nd and hours will continue to be 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.   Remember that Phillippi Farmhouse Market is Sarasota’s only mid-week market providing the freshest local produce (including USDA Certified Organics), locally prepared baked goods and prepared foods as well as local artisans with their original handicrafts and local musicians providing music for your enjoyment.

Phillippi Farmhouse Market is a proud sponsor of the Humane Society of Sarasota County and has been delighted with the many deserving cats and dogs that have found new homes after parading around the market and showering all with their giving personalities.  Don’t forget that Phillippi Estate Park is dog friendly and welcomes your well-behaved pets on leash, and  various vendors put out bowls of cool water for their canine friends.

The Phillippi Farmhouse Market was so named because the market contributes to the Keith Farmhouse in Phillippi Estate Park.  This 1916 clapboard farmhouse was the first building erected on the property when Edson Keith bought the 60 acres in 1916.  The market makes yearly donations to the rehabilitation of the interior of the farmhouse.  The park also is home to the Edson Keith Mansion and free tours of the historic home resume when the market reopens in October.  Knowledgeable docents escort visitors through the house and share early local history.

SEE YOU AT THE MARKET – Wednesday, October 2nd!
