Walk, Learn and Exercise!Join Sarasota County volunteer Tina Sebastian on a fast paced walk through Lemon Bay Park. This 2-3 mile loop walk will take you through pine flatwoods and along Lemon Bay’s shoreline. Learn some fascinating facts about the native plants that grow here.

Birding Diversity at the Carlton ReserveCalling all birding enthusiasts! Be tantalized and wowed by the vast array of bird species and nature found at the beautiful Carlton Reserve. Join local birder, Charlie Sample, as he leads you on a birding nature journey. Don’t miss this opportunity to help document the multitude of bird species on the Carlton Reserve outback. Spooky Stories in the Dark at Shamrock ParkSometimes, just as dusk is settling into the darker part of night, the air is filled with whispers and unsettling sounds. Could it be the spirits of long-dead pirates, still searching for lost buried treasure? Or the fabled skunk ape, a grotesque creature folks say they’ve glimpsed in the woods? Join park staff for a walk in the dark, storytelling and surprises at Shamrock Park and Nature Center. Bring flashlights and your own scary stories to share. Safe costumes are welcome! Advanced registrations appreciated.
