A message from Friends President Bruce Dillon:

[clearboth]It’s hard to imagine a better place to look for people who appreciate the role Sarasota County’s parks play in the quality of life that makes our communities such a special place to live, work, visit and play than the recipients of the Friends of Sarasota County Parks newsletter.

Founded in 2002, the Friends is an all-volunteer group whose mission is to promote, maintain and enhance public support for Sarasota County parks and public recreational lands through volunteer efforts, fundraising activities, projects and marketing.

To meet that challenge the Friends would like to fill a couple of vacancies on our Board of Directors. The Board is in the process of implementing several aspects of a strategic plan adopted earlier this year. The planning effort was made possible through the generosity of the Gulf Coast Community Foundation‘s Invest in Incredible initiative. 

Current efforts include updating our brand, marketing and  publicity, streamlining our business operations and tracking our progress through the implementation of internal measurements.
