Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers have a huge impact on the health and well-being of communities. Volunteers are both critical partners and the participants in our community. VOLUNTEERS make a difference at the Sarasota County Parks.
Volunteers have contributed 103,500 hours from October-May equating to $2,380,500.

There are OPPORTUNITIES to help at our Sarasota County Parks, from one-time to recurring volunteer experiences for individuals of all ages, year round.


Venice Beach is a great place to find seashells enjoy the warm gulf waters or if you’re a diver check out the reef a quarter-mile offshore. Join the CORPS OF INFORMATION GURUS (training session) and help our residents/visitors – Answering/questions about Venice area and beaches. Provide general safety issues as needed. Set up and tear down the information table of literature such as fliers, pamphlets and booklets.

Historical Tour Guide
Docent – Edson Keith Mansion

Lead free guided tours; know or learn the history of the Mansion, park, early “Chicago Colony” and local history/Phillipp Estate Park.
Seasonal: November 16 to April 30
