Updated Info for Volunteers at the USROWING Masters National Championships — Aug. 15-18th!
Hello NBP Volunteers!It’s almost rowtime and we are looking forward to our first national event at the Nathan Benderson Park! Below is information to help make next week’s Masters National Championship event run smoothly for you and the Regatta Organizing Committee… Please read all instructions below as they have changed from previous events.
DIRECTIONS TO THE VENUE:
You can access the venue from Cattlemen road via University Park or Fruitville.
All volunteer parking is free in the general parking lot located in the University Town Center in the grass lot south of Sports Authority (147 Cattlemen Road) Please see directions below.
Coming from the NORTH:
From I-75 take University Parkway, Exit 213.
Drive WEST on University Parkway approx. 0.3 miles
Turn SOUTH (left) onto North Cattlemen Road (traffic light).
The parking lot will be on your right at the third round about.
Please be sure to show the parking attendant your volunteer parking pass
Follow Parking Staff instructions.
Coming from the SOUTH:
From I-75 take Fruitville Road, Exit 210.
Drive WEST on Fruitville Road. approx. 0.2 miles.
Turn NORTH (right) on North Cattlemen Road (traffic light).
Drive approx 2.5 miles to the first round about.
Parking lot will be on your left before Sports Authority.
Follow Parking Staff instructions.
Please try arriving 15-20 minutes prior to the start of your shift in case there is a contingency
All volunteers will be transported by bus to regatta island, Please come to the volunteer registration tent first to pick up your t-shirt, wrist band and instructions about your work location
Volunteer parking passes:
Can be picked up at Environeer’s located at 5373 Fruitville Road or by calling John Krotec at 941-400-7333 to coordinate a pick up.

STAY HYDRATED AND EAT- WE WILL PROVIDE OUR VOLUNTEERS FOOD AND WATER THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE EVENT
The volunteer break area is located on the North side of the main hospitality tent next to the bleachers.
Reminder- our volunteer needs may change during the event and please be open minded to accommodate what is needed for our success!

RACE INFO:
The races are scheduled for August 15-18th (Thursday-Sunday)from 8:00am- 2:00pm. We have approximately 1000 athletes signed up for this event that will be coming from all over the United States.
**IMPORTANT REQUEST~BECAUSE OF THE SHORTENED RACE DAYS, WE ARE ASKING FOR THOSE VOLUNTEERS SCHEDULED ALREADY FOR THE NOON SHIFT TO COME IN A BIT EARLIER IF POSSIBLE (10-11ish). THIS WILL RELIEVE THE EARLY MORNING CREW AND GIVE YOU A FULLER DAY OF THRILLING VOLUNTEER FUN!

Please see below for some information to brush up on before coming out to the event:
Where can I find heat sheets? – heat sheets will be available at the admission tent and in the hospitality tent
Is there ice for sale?- Ice will be sold in 20lb bags for $5.00 in vendor village.
Where is EMS located?- there are 2 stations- at the finish line & launch and recovery
Can I get credit for volunteer hours?- Yes please give your hour-sheet to the volunteer coordinator, any volunteer leader or ROC member(wearing blue shirts throughout the event embroidered with the park logo)
Where do I pick up my volunteer shirt and admission bracelet? Please stop by the volunteer registration tent located near the admission tent.
Where can I leave my personal belongings? We would suggest that you leave them home or in your vehicle but there will be limited secure space inside the volunteer break area.
