The 2016 Giving Challenge — the most successful giving event in Sarasota — runs September 20-21, 2016 NOON to NOON

Friends of Sarasota County Parks, Inc. provides support to our community PARKS,

we continue to partner with many of you on environmental stewardship and

educational activities, sponsor community engagers, support scholarships and raise

funds for PARK enhancements.

On September 20 beginning at NOON through September 21 st ending at NOON,

please support us with your online donation as part of GIVING CHALLENGE 2016.

Last year, during 24 hour challenge, YOU, our community donors raised more

than $7 million in 24 hours. We are able to fulfill our mission because of YOU.

This is our fifth year as part of the Sarasota Community Foundation’s annual

community fundraising day. This year, The Patterson Foundation will be matching

each new donation 2:1 for new donors and 1:1 for returning donors. Their

generosity will have an incredible impact on helping us do what we do best – make

OUR Parks and recreation areas even better.

This year, the Friends are focusing on offering an increased number of scholarships

for developmentally disabled children to attend summer camp in 2017 through our

HELP ME PLAY initiative; provide for great family activity time by purchasing

PADDLES AND LIFE VESTS so families can continue to enjoy Sarasota’s

spectacular wild and scenic Myakka River; Support Our Four Legged Friends

through the purchase of DOGGIE WATER FOUNTAINS for our Sarasota County

Paw Parks; FIGHT SKIN CANCER by creating additional shade opportunities at

Park athletic fields and recreational areas through our SHADE IS GOOD project

and support the FITNESS AND WELLNESS OF OUR CHILDREN as our

community develops a new playground at Tuscano Park in Venice.
