The Friends of Sarasota County Parks received a Certificate of Recognition for its decade and more of support for our public parks, recreational facilities, and public lands.

The award, presented Feb. 7, 2017, at a public meeting of the Sarasota County Commission, noted FOSCP’s continued support for the restoration of the Phillippi Estate Farmhouse. Through donations over a period of years, FOSCP has raised over $125,000 for that purpose. Much of this has come from the all-volunteer organization’s operation of the Phillippi Farmhouse Market, as well as through various fundraising opportunities.
