PSC- Waterway Stewards

Location: Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources
Sarasota County Waterway Stewards
Duties: *Observe and report issues impacting wildlife or natural resources throughout county preserve waterways including Myakka River, its tributaries and coastal creeks.

*Involvement in planned work days to include removal of trash and invasive vegetation

*Be a good steward of the environment by not disturbing but enjoying wildlife and practicing leave no trace etiquette.

Qualifications: *Must have a kayak/canoe and all required safety equipment (pdf,whistle, signal)

*Must be comfortable paddling in preserve areas which may include remote areas and narrow channels, wildlife approached, etc.

*Must be able to communicate well and report relevant information to county staff including photos if possible.

*Must be able to use your internet based volunteer account to schedule yourself for activities and routinely record volunteer hours.

Notes: *Work day events will be scheduled separately with important information
listed including start and end time of event.
*Flexible schedules will also be available.
