The Bay Wise Kayak Tours return for 2015 & 2016! American Canoe Association Instructor and naturalist Brad Tanner will lead educational kayak tours around Neal Preserve and Leffis and Jewfish Key. Registration is open for the following dates and locations:
Saturday, December 5th, 2015 to Neal Preserve
Saturday, December 19th, 2015 to Neal Preserve
Saturday, January 9th, 2016 to Leffis Key and Jewfish Key
Saturday, January 16th, 2016 to Leffis Key and Jewfish Key
Between the salt marshes and archaeological sites at Neal Preserve, the December tours will appeal to nature lovers and history buffs alike! And for those who like the idea of visiting island preserves, January’s trips to Leffis and Jewfish Keys will be your best bet!
Please note: Participants must bring or rent their own kayak and gear. If you have never kayaked before, we strongly suggest that you take a class or participate in a “demo day” with a local kayak rental company BEFORE your Bay Wise trip. Please visit the Bay Wise Kayak Tour page for a list of local kayak rental companies.
Bay Wise kayak tours are not recommended for novice kayakers. Minors under 18 years of age must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian in order to participate.  Children under 10 years of age are discouraged from participating.
Participants who wish to sign up for more than one trip will be able to sign up for one trip and then be put on a waiting list for the other trips of interest. We hope to bring the Bay Wise kayak tours to as many people as possible – please help support this effort by limiting your participation to two trips per season.
Open registration for kayak tours begins approximately two months in advance to the tour date. Please note: to register for future tours, please revisit the Bay Wise Kayak Tour page two months in advance of the tour date.
